Modern Slavery
Modern Slavery Statement for Safe Haven Talent
Introduction
Safe Haven Talent is fully committed to preventing modern slavery and human trafficking in all its forms. As a platform connecting care professionals with children’s homes and related organisations, we recognise the responsibility we hold to protect vulnerable individuals and ensure ethical practice throughout our operations and supply chains.
We believe that everyone has the right to work freely, with dignity and without coercion. We take a zero-tolerance approach to modern slavery and are dedicated to ensuring that our platform, business practices, and supplier relationships are free from exploitation of any kind.
Modern slavery is a serious crime and a violation of fundamental human rights. It can take many forms, including slavery, servitude, forced labour, and human trafficking — all of which involve the abuse of power for personal or commercial gain. Safe Haven Talent is committed to acting with integrity in all our dealings and to putting in place effective systems, processes, and safeguards to prevent modern slavery within our organisation and supply chains.
This statement covers the period up to 31 January 2027.
Our Organisation
Safe Haven Talent provides a nationwide platform for recruitment within the children’s home sector. We enable employers to advertise roles, and qualified candidates to apply directly, with compliance and referencing documents securely stored on our system.
Our supply chains include technology partners, compliance service providers, and other business support functions. We understand that risks of modern slavery can arise at different stages of the supply chain, and we expect the same high standards from all suppliers, contractors, and business partners.
Supply Chain Standards
We require all suppliers and partners to operate ethically and transparently. Our contracts include clear prohibitions against the use of forced, trafficked, or exploited labour, whether involving adults or children. We also expect our suppliers to hold their own networks to these same standards.
Safe Haven Talent will continue to monitor supplier relationships, ensuring compliance with our standards. Any violations will be dealt with appropriately and in line with the severity of the breach.
Policies and Procedures
We have established a framework of policies and procedures to safeguard against modern slavery, including:
Whistleblowing Policy – ensuring staff, candidates, and partners can raise concerns safely and confidentially.
Code of Conduct – setting out expectations for ethical and professional behaviour across all operations.
Supplier Code of Conduct – outlining mandatory standards on modern slavery and ethical supply chains.
Safeguarding Policy – reflecting our sector-specific responsibility to protect children and vulnerable people.
HR Policies and Procedures – promoting fair treatment, equality, and transparent working conditions.
Anti-Bribery and Corruption Policy – ensuring integrity across all business activities.
Due Diligence and Risk Assessment
We conduct ongoing due diligence and risk assessments across our operations and supply chains. This includes:
Reviewing and monitoring suppliers to identify and mitigate potential risks.
Engaging directly with suppliers to ensure understanding of our anti-slavery requirements.
Updating our policies and systems regularly to strengthen our safeguarding measures.
Training and Awareness
We provide training and awareness initiatives for employees, suppliers, and partners to ensure they understand the risks and impacts of modern slavery. We also use our platform to raise awareness across the children’s home sector, reinforcing best practice and ethical recruitment.
Reporting and Monitoring
Safe Haven Talent is committed to transparency. We monitor our compliance measures and review performance regularly, including:
Auditing supplier compliance with our policies.
Monitoring effectiveness of our anti-slavery measures.
Reporting progress in our annual reviews.
Conclusion
Safe Haven Talent takes its responsibility to prevent modern slavery extremely seriously. By working collaboratively with employees, suppliers, and stakeholders, we are committed to maintaining a safe, ethical, and transparent recruitment platform that protects both professionals and the vulnerable individuals they support.
